Psychic Automatic Writing

Automatic writing is one of the easiest psychic abilities to develop. Rather than having the gift of seeing or hearing your spirit guides like a medium or psychic people possess, automatic writing is a way for anyone to channel intuitive information.

There are different beliefs about where this information comes from. Some believe it’s from the other side whereas others think it’s a way to connect to the higher self or spirit guides but where this guidance comes from is not of importance. This is not a thinking exercise, it is about shutting off your conscious mind and letting your unconscious take over to open up communication. Mostly, this technique is used as a way to receive direction and guidance.

How to achieve psychic automatic writing

Remember that this exercise is supposed to be effortless so try and relax and not think too much about what you are doing. Pick a location where you’re unlikely to be disturbed and somewhere you feel comfortable. You may want to meditate before you begin to get yourself into a relaxed state of mind.

Start by writing down a question that you would like answered or guidance for – either on paper or type it. Remember this is an open form of communication so don’t ask ‘yes or no’ questions and don’t try and test your guides by asking questions you already know the answer to. You can ask more than one question but focus on just one at a time. Be clear about whose help and guidance you want; it could be your spirit guide, your higher self or perhaps angels. Take some deep breaths and focus on who you are asking for help and don’t be afraid to ask them directly.

Next, simply start writing whatever comes into your head as fast as possible as the thoughts come to you. Don’t think too much about it instead, try and get into a flow of writing one thought after the other without stopping, without reading back what you have put down, and without being concerned about spelling or grammar. You may want to close your eyes and it can sometimes help to set yourself a timer so that your mind isn’t distracted about how much time is passing.

If you start to feel blocked, stop and don’t read back anything you have put down. Meditate or put on some relaxing music before starting again. When you feel like you have finished, don’t read it back straight away, instead put it aside for at least an hour.

Try and do this daily for a few weeks, preferably at the same time every day to practice.

What results will I get?

Everyone is different and so are their guides. Automatic writing voices are usually intuitive and guiding and not negative but this may depend on your mood. Don’t worry about how it sounds when you do come to read it back as it is likely to sound very different to your own internal voice. Grow to trust the voice that comes through. Keep practising and you can use psychic automatic writing as an effective way to open up intuitive communication.
