Don’t be shy when meeting someone for the first time. It is only natural to feel nervous and you will want to create a good first impression, however, you are perfect just the way you are. You may not intend to upset a colleague but you will find yourself doing just that – offer a genuine apology rather than ignore your gaff.

If your feelings are overwhelming then take some time out. It’s only right that you are allowed time and space to work things out before making a decision. Don’t allow someone to pressure you to respond before you are ready to. A friend is oversharing with anyone who will listen, gently pull them to one side and explain this may not be the right thing to do.

Towards the end of the week you will be spoilt for choice with invitations from friends and family – choose wisely and ensure you don’t say yes to something you don’t want to do.
